While it is not a requirement to disclose any illness to your employer, sometimes letting them know may be helpful. Most employers provide accommodations to their employees. Talk to your human resource department, get informed and be sure to know what rights you have as an employee with KC.

Stay Informed

It is important to know your rights as an employee that may require special accommodations. Keratoconus is a progressive disease which means that not all share the same issues at the same times or may be qualified for disability. However, accommodations as an employee are still within your rights as an individual with KC.

JAN

Job Accommodation Network (JAN) the leading source of free, expert, and confidential guidance on workplace accommodations and disability employment issues. As part of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), JAN represents the most comprehensive job accommodation resource available.

Learn more about your rights as an employee with special circumstances and what you and your employer can do to ensure that you have the right assistance possible to perform your work duties to the best of your ability.
