Since 1986, the National Keratoconus Foundation (NKCF) has served as the leading nonprofit dedicated to keratoconus awareness and education. With over 23,000 engaged patients and care providers, we offer webinars, newsletters, social content, and events that support the lives of those affected by KC.

This year for World Keratoconus Day, NKCF will launch a lighthearted and highly shareable campaign centered around a universally loved treat: the ice cream cone.

As an individual, you have a powerful role in raising awareness and supporting those affected by keratoconus. Here are some simple yet impactful ways to participate in Cones for a Cause:

• Reach out to local ice cream shops using the introductory letter provided in our Cones for a Cause toolkit and invite them to join the project. Their commitment to donate a mutually agreed-upon percent of sales on November 10th (or throughout the week) will directly support KC patients.
• If you are a patient or family member, help spread the word by sharing your connection to keratoconus on social media. Use the hashtags #WorldKCDay and #NKCF and tag us @nkcforg so we can amplify your message. Your voice can inspire others and bring critical attention to this cause.
• Our Cones for a Cause toolkit is packed with helpful resources to get you started. Use our ready-to-share social posts or print the Cones for a Cause poster to display in your office, school, local business or community bulletin board — anywhere people can learn about this important cause and join the movement.
