T-PHAM’s BIG LEAGUE impact on KC

Originally published in NKCF Update (February 2024).

A huge thank you to NKCF Ambassador and MLB outfielder Tommy Pham, who pledged at the beginning of the baseball season to donate to NKCF for each home run he hit as a member of the New York Mets. Pham was traded midway through the year to the Arizona Diamondbacks and Tommy continued his support of NKCF after the trade. He made donations after every Dback win and for every home run.

As baseball fans know, Tommy and the Diamondbacks had a terrific finish – going to the WORLD SERIES in the Fall.

In Game 2 of the Series, Tommy was singled out for his performance. He got a hit at all four of his at-bats, which tied a World Series record. With his team ahead 7-1, he gave up his fifth turn so a teammate could experience an at-bat during the Series. The press called his move classy and selfless.

NKCF has known that about Tommy for years. He has quietly supported our programs and shared his story with countless individuals affected by KC. His gift to NKCF at the close of this year’s baseball season was more than $33,000. Talk about finishing strong! Thank Tommy Pham for his generosity and follow him on Instagram @tphamlv.
