NKCF Referral Service Enrollment

Are you an eye care professional? Be a part of the KC community!

Each year, the NKCF receives over 1,000 inquiries from patients looking for eye care professionals who have a special interest and expertise in treating keratoconus. We provide, free of charge, a list of ophthalmologists, optometrists and contact lens fitters practicing in the patient’s home state.

If you would like to be included and meet the specified requirements listed below, please complete the application relevant to your field:

Requirements

Ophthalmologists

Must be certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) and have at least one additional professional qualification including:

  • Completion of subspecialty fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery
  • Member, Cornea Society
  • Member, International Keratoconus Academy
  • Member, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery

Optometrists

Must have at least two of the following professional qualifications:

  • Fellow, American Academy of Optometry (FAAO)
  • Diplomate, Cornea, Contact Lens and Refractive Technologies Section of AAO
  • Fellow, Scleral Lens Education Society (FSLS)
  • Member, International Keratoconus Academy

Opticians/Contact Lens Technicians

  • Must be Fellows of the Contact Lens Society of America. (FCLSA).
