OD Enrollment Requirements
Optometrists
Optometrists must have graduated from a college of optometry and completed advanced training in contact lens and cornea disease through a formal residency. In addition, optometrists must have an additional qualification including Diplomate, Cornea, Contact Lens and Refractive Technologies Section of AAO, Fellow, Scleral Lens Education Society (FSLS), Fellow, American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) or membership in International Keratoconus Academy. Optometrists who have not completed a formal cornea and contact lens residency must have two additional qualifications.
